Combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and butter. You can do this by hand or in a stand mixer attached with a dough hook.
Add the milk and combine. Knead it until it begins to form into a dough. This should only take a couple of minutes.
Let it rest for 45 minutes to an hour.
While it's resting, make the taco meat.
Divide the dough into 12 even sections.
Roll each section out into a small circle.
Heat the canola oil in a shallow layer over medium heat.
Add the dough circle and fry for 30 seconds. Flip it over. Fold it into a taco shape and let that fry for 30 more seconds. Flip it and fry the other side for 30 additional seconds.
Take it out of the oil and let it drain on a plate lined with a paper towel or a draining rack.
Repeat with all of them.
