Pull Apart French Dip
Happy football! College football, NFL football, I’m sure there’s another sort of football…anyway, you need an appetizer to make watching it bearable. This one is nice because it takes no time at all, and you can ever prepare it in advance and just pop it in the oven when guests arrive. AND it’s handheld because the jus is hidden in the butter. This is perfect for a novice or just someone who likes sandwiches. There’s nothing incredibly new that I’m trying to do here, I just love a simple appetizer because it means you can spend more time with your guests. Okay, I’m out.
Pull Apart French Dip
Perfect, simple, easy, quick game day appetizer.
Ingredients
- 1 stick butter softened
- 1 T au jus
- 1 t worcestershire
- ½ t garlic powder
- ½ t onion powder
- 1 loaf of bread
- 1 lb. provolone cheese
- 1 lb. roast beef
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400° F.
- Combine the butter, au jus, Worcestershire, garlic powder, and onion powder.
- Cut an odd number of slices into your loaf of bread. Do not cut the bread all of the way through, only about ¾ quarter of the way through. It should remind you of an accordian when you're done.
- Spread the butter mixture on all of the slices that you cut.
- Place one or two slices of provolone and one or two slices of roast beef in every other slit of bread. When you pull it apart, each serving will need 2 slices of bread as a sandwich. If this is confusing, just mimic the picture of the recipe.
- If you have any butter left, spread it on top of the sandwich.
- Wrap the sandwich in tin foil.
- Bake for 10 minutes.
