Healthy Crunchwrap

Who else is tired of spending money and time on fast food, enjoying it for a whole 5 minutes, and then spending the rest of the day healf dead? If you answered, “me, duh” to that question, then this is the recipe for you. By a landslide, the crunchwrap supreme is the greatest item at Taco Bell. Maybe even in fast food history. But, the way it makes me feel, the unknown ingredients, and the overload of things in it that should just not be inside of a human body are all things I think about when I’m halfway through my (let’s be real, probably second) one. This recipe will change that for you! Using healthy and natural products change the game when it comes to food recreation. This is my ideal recipe but you can obiously change it up to whatever fits your needs best. Thank me later 🙂

Cuisine Mexican
Servings 6 crunchwrap

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef or turkey For vegan/vegetarian use impossible ground meat!
  • 1/2 cup tomato puree
  • ¼ t salt
  • ¼ t pepper
  • ¼ t oregano
  • ¼ t paprika
  • ¼ t onion powder
  • ¼ t garlic powder
  • ¼ t chili powder
  • 1 1 La Banderita Carb Counter per wrap
  • 2 La Banderita Carb Counter snack size per wrap
  • 1 T olive oil
  • 2 T queso per wrap
  • 2 T shredded cheddar cheese per wrap

Instructions

  • Add the ground beef turkey to a pan and cook for 10 minutes.
  • Add the tomato puree, salt, pepper, oregano, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, and chili powder. Combine and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Preheat oven to 375° F.
  • Lay the snack sized tortillas on a baking sheet and spread the olive oil over both sides.
  • Bake in the oven for 5 minutes on each side.
  • To assemble, lay the tortilla flat. Add 1 T of queso to the tortilla and spread it in a circle, about the size of the snack size tortillas.
  • Add the cooked ground beef or turkey on top.
  • Lay the baked snack size tortilla on top of that and add 1 T of queso and the 2 T of shredded cheddar.
  • Lay an unbaked snack size tortilla on top of that. Fold the edges on the larger torilla in. There are great videos on Youtube explaining the folding process!
  • Heat a pan over medium/high heat and place the folded crunchwrap bottom side down into the pan. Cook for about 1 minute.
  • Flip and cook for an additional minute.

Notes

Shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and sour cream make great garnishes for this wrap. You can layer them on top of the taco meat when you’re assembling it!
