Flavored Pretzel Coated Chicken Tenders
Chicken tenders are good, but hear me out, these are better. Maybe it’s the saltiness of the pretzels or the honey mustard and hot buffalo flavors of the Snyder’s pretzel pieces or the dipping sauces but I crave these over original chicken tenders any day. There’s not many ingredients and if focused, this can be done in a half hour! Cooking time included. Either as an appetizer or an entree, I promise these will be a fan favorite.
Flavored Pretzel Coated Chicken Tenders
What no one tells you as an adult is that you can coat a chicken breast in your favorite snack and it's completely acceptable. Those addicting Snyder's pretzel pieces level up your traditional chicken tender and the dipping sauces marry everything together to create your new favorite meal.
Ingredients
- 3 chicken breasts
- 1 cup flour
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup regular pretzels
- 1 cup your choice of Snyder's flavored pretzel pieces my favorites to use are honey mustard and onion and hot buffalo wing!
- ¼ cup canola oil
- honey mustard i'll link my personal recipe below!
- blue cheese or ranch
Instructions
- Slice your chicken breasts thin. This should create about 9-10 chicken tender pieces.
- Set up 3 dishes. One for the flour, one for the 2 eggs (whisked), and one for the pretzel mixture.
- Dip your chicken piece into flour and completely coat it on both sides.
- Dip that same chicken piece into the eggs. Completely coat it on both sides.
- Dip that same chicken piece into the pretzel mixture. Make sure it's completely coated, using your hands to press the pretzel mixture into the chicken. Set aside and repeat with all of your chicken pieces.
- Heat your canola in a pan over low/medium to around 325° F. If you don't have an oil thermometer, that's fine! Just heat the oil in between low and medium for about 5-10 minutes before you begin cooking.
- Put your burner on low and add your chicken pieces to the oil. Make sure there is a slight sizzle on the oil surrounding your chicken but not too much, it's important not to burn the pretzel pieces! Cook for 4 minutes on each side. You may need to do this in 3 or 4 batches depending on how big your pan is!
- Serve with dipping sauces.
